Wednesday, 18th December at 8.00pm upstairs at The Bell Inn, Hampton TW12 2EA
Christmas digital photo competition and social:

Members may invite spouses/partners/friends – there will be no charge.
We will start with our competition: each photo, taken in the last 12 months, is to have a different book title, up to 3 per member. David and Martin have e-mailed members instructions on how to upload photos using Dropbox, which is really easy, so please do this now if not already done to give us time to prepare them. However, in case of problems and as a last resort, members can bring PDIs in JPG format on a memory stick by 7.30pm on the day, preferably having informed us beforehand, but there will be no guarantee that the images will be shown. Even if you cannot come on 18th, you can still enter the competition.
We are very grateful to Rob Bonfield, a Surrey Photographic Association judge, who is coming to comment on all of the images. He will give his fair assessment while making it fun, so we hope all our members will enter and take advantage of this great opportunity. Rob will select the three he thinks best, in no particular order, but leave it to our members and guests to vote for their favourite. The winner will be presented with the Mike Hammond Trophy.

After the competition, we will celebrate with a generous buffet prepared by The Bell Inn, with the compliments of the club, so no need bring any food, just buy your own drinks from the bar.

Last Month
Mike Farley: Post the Camera – Post processing considerations, including hardware and workflow
This technical talk made a change from the usual projection of photos and Mike gave us lots of information and useful advice especially about how essential it is to back images up on different drives/equipment and store them in several places, plus examples of editing in Lightroom.

Next Month
Wednesday, 15th January 2020: Ian Brash CPAGB BPE2*: Di PIMS – in partnership with Pat Couder CPAGB BPE1* – A digital presentation based on a series of photographic challenges

This promises to be a fun evening with audience participation.
Members: please bring your mounted prints for our exhibition to this meeting, having printed the title of the photo and your name on the back of each, making sure there are no sticky or rough bits on them that could damage other prints.

WHAT’S ON

There is lots to see and do at this time of year including the RHS’s illuminated gardens ‘Glow 2019 at Wisley’ until 5th January. ‘Christmas at Kew 2019’ is sold out but here is a photo I took of it last year.

With very best wishes from the Committee to our members and everyone who reads the newsletter.
Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year.
