Our regular quarterly Picture Sharing
Members are asked to talk briefly about five to ten of their images. These are always enjoyable evenings as we get to see what our photographers have been doing; what they like photographing; and where they have been to take pictures!
It is a mixture of fun and seriousness – photographers can ask for constructive criticism. But most of all, we get to see many images by other photographers!
The meeting will be in person in the Bell Inn at 8.00pm as usual.
Members do not need to Register.
Non-members are requested to sign up here or by e-mail chairman@hamptonhillps.org.uk or just show up on the night!
The guest fee for this meeting is £3.00 to be paid on the night.
LAST MEETING
Wednesday 18th September
We had a pair of very interesting and enjoyable talks by Anthony Lau who in 2016 won the National Geographic Travel Photographer or the Year Competition. Since then, he has become a professional freelance travel photographers with much of his work being for a tour company. He showed us images from his trips to Mongolia & Svalbard. Not only were his images stunning, but he also talked to us about the highs and lows of the journeys and some of the challenges. We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

EXHIBITIONS & COMPETITIONS
It’s never too early to plan:
SPA Individual Print & PDI Competition is on Saturday 02 November 2024. If you’ve entered – good luck! If you haven’t entered, it is still an opportunity to go along a see some great images – and an opportunity to try and second guess the judges’ scores!
It is also the SPA AGM!
Our own Christmas Competition and Social, which will be on 18th December at The Bell. Subject for the competition is “Macro and Close-Up” – so time to practice the techniques which were introduced to us at our May Meeting by Derek Gale.
Penny and Jacquelin have offered to help organise the evening, so we will discuss that further on Wednesday.
Our Exhibition in January 2025 will be at the Teddington and Hampton Libraries: let’s make this the best show ever!
